Taiwanese urban hip-hop band Da Mouth (Chinese name: 大嘴巴) are back in the Mandopop music scene with the first MV “Rock It” off their still-untitled upcoming album. After news of their recent hairstyle change and a full-length preview of their song on Taiwan’s top radio pop station Hit FM, the culturally-diverse group put a hip-hop dance spin in their latest MV.
The multi-national quartet, composed of Japanese vocalist Aisa, Korean-Taiwanese-American vocalist Harry, Taiwanese-Canadian MC40, and Japanese-born Taiwanese DJ Chung Hua, mark the return of energetic dance music in Mandopop since perhaps Taiwanese pop diva Elva Hsiao’s October 2009 release of “Diamond Candy, besides isolated cases from Cindy Yen’s “Stupid Fish” and Jacky Xue’s “My Athena” singles.
Hopefully, more details on Da Mouth’s upcoming work will be released shortly. In the mean time, check out the hip-hop dance MV of the band’s latest track “Rock It” below, courtesy of TaiwanMV!

Summary: A song about coming to terms with a breakup you knew was coming
My Opinion: I almost didn't sub this because I knew it would be done by other groups but Yamapi is the reason I got into Jpop so I have a nostalgic bias towards him and couldn't resist. "Daite Senorita" is a classic of course, but I personally love this song a lot more. His singing has come a long way since the early days of NEWS so I'm proud to see how much he's improved and changed. The song is slow and melodious but has a fast beat and it fits his voice really well. However, what I love the most is the cinematography of this video. It has a very real and in-the-moment vibe that brings out the feeling of the lyrics. The mixture of unique angles, fading focus and shaky hand cam effects were used perfectly to take us into the world of a guy putting on a strong front while dealing with his internal pain. I really enjoyed how the song, the video and his voice all came together to create something memorable.

Sparrow Madden was decked out in a skull and crossbones hat - just like Shiloh Jolie-Pitt! - for a Christmas outing last Friday with his family in LA. He was nestled in mom Nicole's arms, while Joel kept a hold on his big sister Harlow. It was a fun outing for the foursome, as Nicole and Joel have only rarely shared glimpses of their baby son since his birth in September.

If 2009 was any indication, then 2010 will be an exciting time for the Korean fashion industry.
The year saw Seoul stepping up its efforts to build its reputation as an haute couture capital with two successful Seoul Fashion Week events. Next year, local designers and companies are trying to become more competitive in order to battle global fashion brands not just at home, but also overseas.
Going Global
Unlike previous years when the focus was on the local market, Seoul Fashion Week placed more emphasis on global competitiveness.
Korea Fashion Association chairman Won Dae-yun said the survival of the Korean fashion industry is hinged on its ability to compete with foreign brands. Many Korean designers and brands are known for their high-quality, but also for their expensive price tags.
``Most Korean garments are very expensive because they only focus on the local market. That's why they don't want to export. But the local market is already 50 percent occupied by foreign brands, so many local designers are screaming that they are having difficulty and can't survive. But they don't even try to make their prices lower,'' he said.

Aki Hoshino, 32, spent her last day at the races Sunday, finishing her run as co-host on the Fuji TV horse racing show “Minna no Keiba” with the famous Arima Kinen grand prix race.
While Hoshino’s favorite Air Shady came in third in the race and she didn’t quite end her run on a high note, her eyes sparkled as she received a special thank you bouquet from host Shunichi Kawai.
Looking back at her two-year run on the show, she smiled and reflected, “I started out knowing nothing about horse racing, and this taught me so much about how interesting it can be. Even though I will no longer be host, I’ll still keep cheering everyone on at the races.”
From Jan 10, the show will air again as “Minna no KEIBA,” with Maoki Yuki taking over Hoshino’s place.

New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless says there's a "truckload of blood," in her new cable television series, Spartacus: Blood and Sand, being filmed at Auckland.
"Life was very cheap then," she said of the Roman era in which the sword-and-sandals series was set.
Lawless told the Jacksonville Observer the series was set in hard times: "You're looking for the triumph of the human spirit in a sea of degradation."
The former Xena: Warrior Princess star is working long hours on the series created by her husband, former Xena producer Rob Tapert. The show, to debut on the Starz channel in the USA next month, has Tapert, Sam Raimi and Josh Donen as executive producers.
The show stars Australian actor Andy Whitfield as the gladiator Spartacus, and Lawless as Lucretia, whose husband (John Hannah) owns a gladiator camp. That's very handy for Lucretia, who is sexually voracious and fancies gladiators.

Sean "Diddy" Combs may have a hit with his latest fragrance, I Am King (it sold out in 16 minutes on HSN last week) but he has yet to rule the celebrity fragrance market here in America.
According to the research whizzes over at Chicago-headquartered Euromonitor International, the venerable Liz Taylor still leads the pack in U.S. fragrance sales, bagging $67.2 million in 2008 for her White Diamonds scent, first released in 1991 by Elizabeth Arden. (Diddy trailed Taylor by nearly $20 million, with 2008 sales of $48.5 million.)
Other scent-sations include Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely, Derek Jeter Driven and Glo by J.Lo. Any surprises? Well, the polarizing Celine Dion ranked third, inching out SJP by a little less than $1 million. And, somewhat puzzlingly, Antonio Banderas made the cologne cut, too.

Those who try to lure minors into paid sex either over the Internet or offline will be punished starting next year, according to the Health Ministry on Sunday.
Under a revised law on sexual protection for children and minors, which takes effect on Jan. 1, 2010, people merely enticing those in that age group into paid sex will be subject to prison terms of up to one year or 10 million won ($8,500) in fines.
Payment can be defined in a number of ways, from cash to presents such as a place to live.
“We found that more than 90 percent of purchased sex [with minors] took place via Internet chatting or on cyber dating sites. We expect the number of related cases to be greatly reduced following the measure,” said a Health Ministry spokesman.
The ministry is considering punitive actions for those who make false reports.
To make it easier to report potential criminals, the ministry will develop and distribute computer software called “Youth Keeper.” The software will be downloaded from the Web sites of not only the Health Ministry but also the education and gender ministries and the National Police Agency.
Users launch the youth protection program and click the “report” icon to report potential crimes.
A screen shot is saved as an image file that can become evidence.
Final reporting is made to the National Police Agency after the user types his or her name and date of birth.

One person giving up could be another person's opportunity. After the public uproar over Han Geng's contract termination, a girl called Zhang Li Yin gained even more attention by the media. Similarly packaged and trained in South Korea, the Chinese singer is currently going new arrangements by her company. Rumour goes that SM Entertainment is planning for Henry and Zhang Li Yin to become the new duo to attend events for the company.
On the evening of December 27th, Shuicheng TV's "Who is Most Glittering On-Stage", the reporter saw the figure of Zhang Li Yin, concentrating deeply in singing and dancing - her mood unaffected by her company's current affairs. Concerning Han Geng's contract termination, Zhang Li Yin has not released to the media any of her personal views on the situation. In any case, objectively speaking, Zhang Li Yin has used this scandal to define her own popularity, turning something bad into something good.

An Aspen cop wrote a sworn statement saying Brooke Mueller told authorities Charlie Sheen had done this to her before -- this according to the officer's affidavit obtained by TMZ. And Mueller told cops Sheen held her down at knifepoint and threatened to have her killed if she told anyone.
Officer Rick Magnuson says in the affidavit when he responded to the location, dispatch had told him that the knife Sheen had allegedly threatened Mueller with was a switchblade, "like a pocket knife."
Magnuson says when he arrived he did not notice "any obvious injuries" on Mueller. When Magnuson arrived, Sheen was upstairs and Mueller was in the kitchen.
Sheen says the catalyst for the argument was when he "shared a song for his daughter whom he fathered with another woman" which made Mueller jealous.

Live Nation announced Monday the production requirements for Lady Gaga's "Monster Ball Tour" is beyond what the Fox Theatre can accommodate.
Therefore, the pop star's two Detroit dates, Jan. 12 and 13, will be moved to Joe Louis Arena.
Here's where the drama comes in.
If you already had a ticket for one of the Fox Theatre shows, you can't use it for the JLA concerts.

The set built for the tour incorporates huge screens used throughout the concert. They should have figured out which places could support the technical production of the show before people bought tickets. Didn't this just happen with the Orlando show too?

On February 17, 2010 the boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki are scheduled to release a TVXQ Best Album in Japan which will contain their best hits. There will be 4 different type of albums. A) 2 CDs + DVD, B) 1 CD + DVD, C) 1 CD, and a Big East Limited Special Edition.
The PV for their Best Hit Collection has been released. The PV contains the songs from the 1 CD. If you happen to get the 2 CD version, on the 2nd CD you'll receive an additional four new songs and an additional member's choice five songs.

When you mention Hugh Jackman to any discerning cinephile, or drop his name in a game of Dream Casting, people will sneer. "That man cannot act." At best, they'll say "Well, he's really good as Wolverine!" before complimenting his physique, While he certainly is good as Wolverine, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with his rippling definition, he can act. It seems he can't pick a script to save his life, but he can act.

While director James Cameron’s latest big-budget film, Avatar, astonishes audiences with a torrid of stunning visual effects, the movie has also grown a surprisingly large and rabid fan-base. Just ask Anthony Hansen, a Salt Lake City-based customer service representative who works for Stencil Tech, or at least he used to until he was fired from the company for expressing his “anti-Avatar” views of the movie.
The movie centers on Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paraplegic Marine who takes a job on the alien world of Pandora in order to operate his dead brother’s avatar, a lab-grown “native” fused with his brother’s DNA to that of a Na’vi, the indigenous humanoid population on Pandora. Hired by a non-governmental mining operation on the planet, the humans wish to remove the Na’vi from their home in order to dig up the precious mineral underneath. As the humans draw closer to war with the Na’vi, Jake realizes that he has more in common with his new blue family than with the “evil humans.”
“I liked Dances with Wolves too,” says Hansen when discussing the plot of Avatar. “In fact, that was a great movie and probably one of two movies that Costner didn’t fall on his face with. Avatar is exactly like it. Just like that new piece of [expletive] G.I. Joe movie was just like Team America: World Police. Am I the only one seeing this?”
When taking a routine call the Monday following Avatar’s global release in theaters, customers, who were trying to make simple small talk with the long-time customer service rep, raved about the new film. “People were calling up and saying that the movie was the best thing they have ever seen in their entire lives. One person actually said, ‘I wish I lived on Pandora. They are so nice there. The movie was so real.’ Really? The blue people seemed nice? You want to live on that planet with the weird rhinoceroses? I told them I’d book a ticket with Nucking Futs Airlines.”
